Why you need a CTA for all of your communications

Interest, attract, and persuade your audience by using a call to action.

If you’re on social media, you’ve probably encountered the words “buy now” or “click here” while scrolling through your feed. This is called a CTA, also known as a call-to-action.

A CTA is a strategy that many companies use to entice and influence its audience into performing an act that will benefit their business. A CTA should be short, sweet, and straight to the point.

For a more in-depth explanation of CTAs and why they’re significant, read more from this blog post.

See that? That’s how you use a call-to-action.

Saving you, and the PR world, from poorly executed meetings

A guide to avoiding bad meetings

As Dave Grady mentions in his TED Talk, there’s a global epidemic called MAS, which stands for “mindless accept syndrome.” A symptom of this is, in Grady’s words, “an involuntary reflex in which a person accepts a meeting invitation without even thinking why.” All jokes aside, the subject of the TED Talk is something PR professionals should take into consideration.

Many of us subconsciously accept invitations to meetings without even asking what the meeting is about. No one wants to sit in a meeting for hours without knowing what the game plan is, especially if we have other projects to work on and deadlines to meet.

You're not thinking big enough

Small thinking is stopping you and your company from great things – including public relations

The biggest issue I see with most companies is they’re not thinking big enough.

They set reasonable goals and objectives that don’t inspire their teams to stretch.

I’d rather push myself and fall short than work in an environment where I don’t feel challenged. We encourage “failing forward” because you learn and achieve more by allowing yourself to take risks and make mistakes.

When do I use “the” vs. “a/an” articles?

The top two rules for correct article usage

When writing content for your company, you want to make sure all nine parts of speech are correct. The nine parts of speech are nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Grammar errors as simple as using the wrong part of speech in a sentence make your company look unprofessional. Show you care about the content you publish by making sure even the smallest, most seemingly inconsequential parts of speech are used correctly. If your company’s writing is not of high-quality and prioritized, then buyers will infer the quality of your products and services is not a priority either.

Speaking of, what part of speech is commonly written incorrectly in public relations writing? Articles. Know the difference between “a,” “an,” and “the” with these two simple rules.
