Capturing leads at events

Events provide great exposure for your company. They offer the ultimate opportunity for your company to be a thought-leader on a certain topic. They also provide a platform for your company’s representatives to network with key prospects. Another benefit of events, perhaps the least obvious, is the opportunity they provide to generate leads. Here’s how to give your events some longevity by incorporating lead generation into your plan.

Online forms

With an online registration/RSVP form, you can collect data about your attendees, including company name and email. This provides opportunities for you to create targeted email campaigns, based on attendees’ participation in the event (or lack of participation). Attendance can be a problem, especially for free events, so having an email address for no-shows provides an opportunity to engage with them after the event has passed. For those who did attend, you can engage with them further after the event has concluded.

Lead generation during events

If an online registration/RSVP isn’t right for your event, there are still opportunities to generate leads. If your company has an exhibit at a trade show, for instance, take advantage of technology programs to help you capture leads. Apps like iCapture allow you to scan business cards to immediately capture valuable data.
