4 steps to maximize your social media strategy

By Yulia Dianova

How to attract more traffic to your social media platforms

A maximized social media campaign makes for happy and engaged followers. Many companies rely on their social media strategy to help grow their business. Social media spreads the word about your brand, establishes your credibility, gets you more leads and brings you convertible traffic. Obviously, you want to use social media platforms to their full potential. The question is how? Unfortunately, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. There are, however, certain key steps that work to maximize your social media efforts.

Here are 4 proven-to-work steps to maximize your social media strategy:

  1. Be useful to your customers.

Your audience is following you because you have something in common. People like sharing content and exchanging interesting information. They also look for information they need. Your followers are looking for content that is helpful to them. If you provide useful information to your followers, they’ll keep following you because you are of value to them.

  1. Know your followers.

You use social media because you want to grow your brand and get more business. Your followers help you do that. You need to connect with your social media audience and get to know them to grow your business. You must know your target publics to be able to offer them the best content and serve their needs. This means knowing their interests, preferences, mindsets and behaviors, anticipating their problems and requests. Use your social media data to create your social media follower persona. In addition to the standard methods of audience discovery, you can also do industry research, focus groups and brand surveys.

  1. Make your content shareable.

You run your social media campaign to promote your brand. Make sure that all key content on your site is easy to navigate and easy to share. An average site visitor will spend only a few seconds on your site. All information about your brand and unique benefits of your products and services must be easy to discover on your site.

  1. Analyze your performance.

One of the key components of your social media campaign is your analytics. You need to know how your social media campaign is doing – what worked and what didn’t. When you look at your social media analytics, you’ll see data that will help you make necessary adjustments to improve your social media performance. What data should you be looking at? Start with awareness, consumption, engagement, actions and your SEO impact. For that, you should look at impressions, reach, mentions, clicks, visits, referrals, likes, shares and downloads.

Social media is one of the most important components of your overall marketing strategy. It’s something your business growth depends upon. Your social media campaign helps you strategically position your business, get new leads and convert followers into loyal customers.
