The World Communication Forum named Jason Mudd as North America's top PR leader in 2023, distinguishing him among visionaries who improve the communications industry from each corner of the world.
Jason is a trusted adviser and dynamic strategist to some of America’s most admired and fastest-growing companies. Since beginning his career in 1994, he has worked with American Airlines, Budweiser, Dave & Buster’s, H&R Block, Hilton, HP, Miller Lite, New York Life, Pizza Hut, Southern Comfort, and Verizon. He's the CEO and managing partner of Axia Public Relations. Forbes magazine named Axia Public Relations as one of America’s Best PR Agencies.
Jason is a professional public speaker, published author, video podcaster, and entrepreneur. He is an accredited public relations practitioner and a certified PR Measurement Master. Clients love his commitment, candor, innovation, passion, and award-winning team. His grasp of technological demands on companies in an increasingly tech-forward world provides his clients a competitive advantage in reaching their audiences.
Jason started digital marketing in 1994 and search engine optimization in 1998. During this time, he taught himself HTML, helped pioneer internet marketing strategies as an early adopter of e-commerce and SEO — inspiring Silicon Valley tech giants like Yahoo — and conceptualized Web 2.0 and social media in 2000.
In 2006, Jason and the public relations firm started podcasting. Today, he hosts and produces “On Top of PR” with Jason Mudd — a videocast about public relations topics, tips, and trends. It is one of the top 5% most popular podcast shows globally, according to ListenNotes' Listen Score, and among the top 100 marketing podcasts on Apple Podcasts. Episodes feature guests from Inc, Disney, Wells Fargo, Kroger, Carnival Cruise Line, Undercover Boss, Firehouse Subs, Wounded Warrior Project, PRWeek and more.
Jason also writes about public relations best practices for 44 American City Business Journals across the U.S., public relations industry trade media, and other national business news outlets.
At Axia, Jason attracts, develops, innovates, and leads top PR talent and clients. He oversees strategic communications strategies for the firm’s national clients, delivering high-level consultations to client leadership teams at billion-dollar global brands, both business-to-business and business-to-consumer, including spokesperson training, crisis communications management, analytics, social media, online reputation management, and more.
