After a stint as a journalist, Wendy Bulawa Agudelo entered the field of public relations to assist companies in using creative approaches to media relations. A seasoned public relations veteran, Wendy has more than 15 years of experience in technology, business and consumer public relations. Prior to working with Axia Public Relations, Wendy orchestrated public relations programs for Caere Corporation/ScanSoft, Dialogic Corporation/GammaLink, Ingersoll Rand/Recognition Systems, RSA Security and TiVo. She has worked with Axia Public Relations since September 2014.
The mother to a set of twin boys and a daughter with Down syndrome, Wendy currently serves as an active member of the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress PR Task Force. She earned the 2009 MDSC Media Award for her broad-reaching written voice on the topic of Down syndrome and special needs and has also earned Top Moms in Business honors for Period Packs.
Wendy studied at Syracuse University and San Jose State University in California, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations and a dual minor in business marketing and advertising. Wendy spends her free time in the kitchen, whipping up seasonal, New England-style dishes like clam chowder and Boston cream pie while watching the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots on TV.
