Office Linebacker

Job Title: Office Linebacker

Department: Culture and Accountability

Reports To: Director of Operations (and anyone brave enough to challenge you)

FLSA Status: Full-Contact, Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

Inspired by Felcher & Son's iconic hiring of Terry Tate, we’ve decided to create an Office Linebacker position of our own at Axia Public Relations. The Office Linebacker will be responsible for ensuring maximum productivity, enforcing rules, and delivering swift, decisive corrective action to any teammate who dares to fall short of our core values: integrity, ideas, relationships, results, and improvement. If you believe in excellence and have the ability to deliver accountability through friendly yet firm tackles, this role might be for you.

On top of that, we’re seeking a candidate who is a Certified Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) Implementer. What’s EOS, you ask? Imagine taking our passion for tackling challenges—literally—and adding a system that helps teams clarify their vision, prioritize their goals, and execute with precision. EOS does just that by focusing on six key components: Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process, and Traction. If you can help us streamline operations while enforcing productivity with well-timed tackles, you’re the kind of leader we need.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforcement of Core Values: Deliver motivational hits to teammates who forget to uphold our standards of integrity, ideas, relationships, results, and improvement. If someone sends a Slack message without a proper greeting, they’re in your crosshairs.

  • Productivity Management: Patrol the office and remote workspaces to ensure deadlines are met, coffee pots are refilled, and that “I’ll get to it later” doesn’t become a part of anyone’s vocabulary.

  • Meeting Efficiency: Burst through conference room doors to keep meetings on track and on time. If it runs past the scheduled end time, you’re running drills—on them.

  • Morale Boosting: Offer high-fives, chest bumps, and the occasional pep talk (or tough love) to remind the team that slacking is for quitters.

  • Office Etiquette: Any violators caught microwaving fish in the break room or using excessive ‘reply-all’ emails will face your immediate (and physical) corrective action.

Qualifications:

  • Certified EOS Implementer: Proven experience implementing EOS within an organization and aligning teams with EOS principles (and a firm grasp on the power of a well-timed blitz).

  • Physical Stamina: Must be able to sprint the length of a conference room in under 3 seconds and perform takedowns with precision.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead through sheer presence, volume, and the element of surprise.

  • Intense Focus: Strong attention to detail, especially when hunting down procrastination, poor posture, or a teammate failing to refill the printer paper tray.

  • Prior Experience: Previous experience in a similar role (NFL, rugby, aggressive dodgeball leagues) is preferred but not required. Heart and enthusiasm will be considered.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and unpredictable, with occasional open-field tackles between cubicles. Must be comfortable enforcing company culture with extreme prejudice. Helmets are optional but recommended.
