The Vice President of Account Services serves as a trusted senior leader to clients and the Axia team, setting standards, guiding execution, and improving performance across accounts. This role emphasizes leadership, judgment, and accountability more than day-to-day tactical work.

What you’ll do

  • Own client satisfaction, retention, and overall account health across assigned relationships
  • Lead and develop account managers and project teams to deliver strategic, high-quality work
  • Set delivery standards, best practices, and performance expectations
  • Provide senior-level guidance to clients on strategy, messaging, and program direction
  • Anticipate challenges and realign client expectations, teams, and plans when necessary
  • Improve processes, workflows, and efficiency across the client services function
  • Support forecasting, staffing plans, and resource allocation
  • Serve as a key leader on agency growth, quality, and client experience
  • Review and occasionally author critical client communications when the stakes are high
  • Represent Axia with professionalism and executive presence in client interactions

What success looks like

  • Clients renew and expand because of the agency's results and communication
  • Account teams operate with clarity, support, and accountability
  • Predictable delivery, strong planning, and disciplined execution.
  • Systems scale to produce quality across multiple client engagements
  • The agency operates smoothly and profitably

What you bring

  • 10–20 years of experience in strategic communications, PR, or digital marketing
  • 7–10+ years in an agency environment
  • Demonstrated success leading multiple client accounts and teams
  • Proven record of improving performance, retention, and delivery quality
  • Strong communication skills and leadership maturity
  • Experience in mentoring and developing account managers
  • Confidence balancing client needs, team capacity, and agency priorities

Exceptional Director-level or Senior Account Manager candidates who are ready to operate at this level will be considered. Title and compensation will be determined based on final leveling and scope of responsibility.

Compensation

$100,000–$165,000 annual salary, depending on experience, plus profit sharing.

Location

Remote, with preference for candidates located in (Northeast) Florida, or willing to travel there occasionally (up to quarterly) for leadership meetings and team collaboration.

About Axia Public Relations

What We Believe

We believe public relations is the best way to build and maintain a great reputation. But when people don’t know what effective PR is, they often do it wrong.

What We’ve Built

In 2002, Jason Mudd founded Axia in his den without a single client — but with a determination to create a better PR agency experience for clients and employees.

Twenty-some years later, the World Communications Forum named him North America's Best PR Leader, and companies nationwide choose to work with Axia’s small team of highly effective, award-winning experts.

Axia’s commitment to clients remains unwavering. Our agency has built an excellent reputation (net client and employee promoter scores range from 98–100), our clients are industry thought leaders, and we are positioned for significant growth.
